The name of the blog that I chose to profile is Topspin Tennis Blog. The blog is all about different aspects of the tennis game. It ranges from junior competitions, futures, and pro events to equipment talk and tennis movie reviews. The writer of the blog is Steve Bartholomew. He considers himself a fan of tennis and lives in Surrey, United Kingdom. He ranks his favorite players as Andre Agassi and Roger Federer. His posts come about every month, reporting on the past few weeks of tennis results around the world, as well as the latest equipment talk. He writes a lot of his blog on-the-go, in which his Iphone and Blackberry enable him to do so. I am not sure how often his site is visited or how it ranks, but it is quite comprehensive, which makes me assume that a lot of people read it, as he makes sure that it is always up to date.

The above links are to two interesting blogs I found on the site. The First one is about Rafael Nadal’s outstanding play at this year’s French Open, where he is demolishing the field one player at a time. It seems like nothing can stop Rafael at this year’s French Championship. The second blog is about Andre Agassi completing the career grand slam, a feat that has only been accomplished by five people in the history of men’s tennis. Agassi will go down as one of the greatest players of all time with help from his 1999 French Open win.
The Topspin Tennis blog focuses on a large area of tennis - everything to do with results and equipment. The blog is presented in a very journalistic style. I say that because it includes write-ups and stories about past tennis news and events. My blog will try to deal with more of the lifestyle that tennis players have to live when they are beginning or ending their careers on the lower level pro tournaments. The posts are done quite well with videos to accompany the text of certain events. The actual writing might not always be so in-depth because it is not always written from a computer, but there are not any noticeable half-hearted posts or stories. The writer has a lot of knowledge of news on tennis when it breaks from around the world. The audience would be fans of the game who are looking for a large range of tennis news with out all kind of fillers. The posts are pretty short which makes it easy to read a lot of different stories on a lot of different issues. My site will be different for the very opposite - my bog will not include the abundant number of posts that Topspin Tennis has, but rather more in-depth writing on a few specific topics.
